During my long stay, I had the chance to try many cafes in Rishikesh in 2020. I spent the beginning of Covid time here - around 7 months until I left the town for a road trip.
As a digital nomad, I needed places with a good internet connection in Rishikesh and also good vibes around me. Mostly, Rishikesh cafes are friendly places, where you will feel comfortable. You can have a Ganga Maa view in front of you, happy people around you, comfort for a long stay. What you need to check is internet connection and silence - if needed.
Here I will list the best cafes in Rishikesh for me. Let me know if you want to add more to help newcomers to our beautiful Rishikesh.
Shambala Cafe
I have to start with this one. I don't know how many days I spent in Shambala Cafe right after discovering this well-known place. People are so nice that they make you feel at home. You can reeeeaaly chill here and work if you want. It's not expensive, but the food and drinks are good. Cold coffee and lemonana are my favourites.
It's just up to Ganga River. You will enjoy the view when you are here.
Royal Cafe
Royal Cafe has Americano, for those who cannot give up on coffee and one of the best Rishikesh and Ganga view. The coffee is not the best, but then I have to tell that this one has a calm atmosphere, with nicely tuned music in the background and kind people working around. Prices are not higher than many other places. They have free wi-fi.
Secret Garden
It's the meeting point of digital nomads, freelancers and travellers. They always have amazing vegan food and (maybe) the best coffee options in Rishikesh. Try ice coffee and other cold coffee alternatives here. You will never 'not like' what you have here.
In the garden, you can chill swinging in the hammock or try/enjoy slacklining or just do what you like. The wi-fi is one of the best here.
Lotus Cafe
Great view and environment. They have free wi-fi and this place is pretty large so you will probably find a nice seat to spend time.
Dharma Swasti
Dharma Swati is an authentic vegan cafe with amazing desserts and drinks. They also have filter coffee, but it is not the one you have in 3rd wave coffee shops. What I like about this place was the music (and also it’s being my next-door neighbour :) What they are good at is not coffee, but you need to try one of the raw desserts: Bliss Ball, Raw Mango Pie, Choco Pie.
And I also like what it says on the back cover of their menu: What is good for you is good for mother earth. Be aware.
Moksh Cafe
If you are in Rishikesh, this is the place you should go on your first days because if you leave this one to the end of the travel, you may feel sorry. This is an amazing place to make new friends and enjoy the vibe with all these people from all over the world. Just spare your evening here. People sing, dance, and eat together. This place is not a place to visit, but to experience.
It was my first cafe, where I spent a long time. We were jamming, dancing and meeting new people and getting closer with old friends. Right before corona, I was the dream place for me.
PS: Try ice cream and chocolate balls with extra chocolate.
Ganga View Cafe
You can find real Americano here. The cafe also has a good view of Ganga - as mentioned in the name - and a good internet connection. You can enjoy the nice view, sunshine, and rich menu of this beautiful place. I tried Americano, Vegan Cappuccino and Avocado salad, which were amazing and heard of the excellent taste of chocolate ball.
