1. Digitalize your business

As a digital nomad, you will be providing services online. So if you have a physical job, first you need to find ways to move your job online. You may start where you are first and practice and get used to being a digital worker. Afterwards, you are ready to perform your job online in any part of the world!

2. Find your digital nomad community

Starting your digital nomad career might not always be easy in terms of support and socialization. If you find a city that already has a digital nomad community established, it will be advantageous for you to get support while creating your new life.

There are also some countries that provide digital nomad visas for digital nomads. Search for these countries to have fewer issues about getting visas as a freelancer or a remote worker living a nomadic lifestyle.

3. Prefer a location fitting your working hours

If you work for a company and work as a remote worker, it is wise to find a country to work in an overlapping time zone with the country of the company you work for functions. Especially if you will be in a totally new country, having health insurance is crucial for you. Also, you may need to have any medical condition treated before travelling. Even if you are definitely healthy, accidents may happen and it is always a wise move to have health insurance while travelling to a different country than yours.

7. Check visa types and choose a suitable one for you

You may work obtaining a tourist visa or choose a country where they have digital nomad visas. Working with a tourist visa can actually be considered a grey area. In that case, you are not officially declaring that you are a digital nomad working as a location independent individual, rather you say that you are a tourist in that country. But if you own a company, you may deal with some tax issues, in that case having a sole proprietorship might be a good option as a solo worker and traveller, aka a digital nomad.
